Prominent Ear
The three most common causes of prominent ear are the following and are usually present in combination.
Underderleloped antihelicat fold
As a result of inadequate folding of the antihelix, the scapha and helical rim protrude. This anatootic abnormality causes prominence of the upper third and, in many cases, the middle third of the ear.
Prominent Concha
The concha may be excessive deep. Chonchomastoid angle may be excessive, or there may be a combination of these two factors. This anatomic abnormality causes prominence of the middle third of the auricle.

Following are the surgery steps after complete exUsmane by Dr Usman Jahangir.

• Dr Usman Jahangir would make a template for your abnormal ear by matching with normal ear
• These markings are traced over new ear site and marked with permanent marker
• After anesthesia 1st incision is given over ribs and cartilage are harvested
• Framework of new ear is created by shaping these cartilages into proper ear
• Pocket is created over new ear site. Pocket is made slightly larger than cartilage framework
• Framework is placed and suction is applied

2ND Stage of Surgery
2nd stage surgery is performed at 3 to 6 month later of first surgery, It is a 2 to 3 hour procedure and consists of following steps.

• Rib is harvested from subcutaneous pocket which was placed at initial operation
• Incision is given over scalp area
• Fascia is harvested(TP fascia)
• Framework is elevated and rib block is placed and fixed behind it
• It is then covered with fascia followed by skin graft
