Buttock Augmentation with Gluteal Implants

Silicon implants has rapidly gained in popularity over the past ten years. Gluteal implants also called butt implants are made up of solid silicon they effectively augmentor enlarge the buttocks area, this produces a more desirable shape, which is not easy to achieve with other approaches.

Implant Placement Position
Silicon implant are placed either under the skin or in between 2 muscles, better results are achieved if implants are placed between muscles because they are well hidden under the muscles.

Procedure
Butt implants operation is performed under general anesthesia in prone position at our clinic in Multan & Khanewal, Pakistan. It is approximately 2 hour procedure.
Patient is advised to avoid pressure over implants for few weeks. He can go home after 24 hour of surgery. Drains if placed are removed at discharge and one week rest is advised. Compression garments are worn for 4 to 6 weeks. After surgery daily activity can be started after one week.

Complications
Like other silicon implants complications are there. Most common is infection range from 3-7% Minor infection settles with rest, antibiotics alone or wound may need to be washed. In extreme cases of infection, implant may need to be removed. Implant is removed and It is reinserted after 6 months.

Buttock Augmentation with Microfat Grafting
Buttock augmentation or enlargement can be performed by microfat grafting technique. It is recent technique which has fewer complications. In this technique fat is taken from belly or thigh, processed and injected into buttock. It is also called autologous fat transfer to the butt area.
Final butt shape depends upon total fat available, total fat harvested and number f sessions performed. Routinely 2 to 3 times fat need to be injected to get a better butt shape.
After the surgery initially swelling is there for 5 to 7 day’s. Then swelling subsides and fat graft gain its blood supply from its bed, after injection 50 to 60% of injected fat remains there, that’s why multiple sessions are required, usually 2 to 3 sessions.
